There’s a particular circumstance where a plastic recycling company wants to hear “no.” That’s a “no” as in when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issues a no objection letter for the firm’s recycling processes.

Aaron Industries Corp. has received such a letter from FDA’s Center of Food Safety and Applied Nutrition for the company’s process to produce recycled polystyrene for disposable, single use food contact articles.

The resin, at levels up to 100 percent recycled content from post-industrial and post-consumer sources, will be available under the name ARPS-100-2FDA.
